How to return your vote-by-mail package

You’ve received your vote-by-mail-package, completed it, and are ready to return it – but how?

At this stage Elections BC recommends returning your vote-by-mail package in person to make sure it is received by the deadline. Completed vote-by-mail packages must be received by Elections BC before 8 p.m. (Pacific time) on Saturday, October 24.

Returning your vote-by-mail package in person

You can return your vote-by-mail package in person at a:

District electoral office

• 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (local time) during advance voting, October 15-21
• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (local time) October 22-23
• 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Pacific time) on General Voting Day, October 24

Voting place 

• 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (local time) during advance voting, October 15-21
• 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Pacific time) on General Voting Day, October 24

Participating Service BC locations

• October 23: Locations with 24-hour drop boxes or mail slots will collect vote-by-mail packages until 8 p.m. on General Voting Day, October 24. Locations without drop boxes or mail slots have varying hours. Verify the hours for your local office with Service BC.
• October 24: Some Service BC locations will be open for extended hours to accept vote-by-mail packages, some will have 24-hour drop boxes or mail slots, and some will be unavailable. See this table to find the drop-off location nearest you.

(Note: Vote-by-mail packages cannot be dropped off at Service BC locations in Surrey, Vancouver or Burnaby. Voters in these areas wishing to return their package in person should return it at a district electoral office or voting place.)
