Media Advisory: Where to Vote Cards for the Nanaimo By-election are in the Mail

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 15, 2019

VICTORIA – Where to Vote cards are being delivered in the Nanaimo electoral district starting today, and Elections BC is reminding voters to bring their card with them when they vote in the by-election.

“Where to Vote cards identify where and when to vote and save time at the voting place,” says Chief Electoral Officer Anton Boegman.

Registered voters will receive a card that includes the dates, times and locations for advance voting. Each voter’s card also shows their assigned voting place for General Voting Day, January 30, 2019.

Elections BC is also distributing Where to Vote cards to addresses within the Nanaimo electoral district with no registered voters. These cards will inform any eligible voters at these addresses of the voting opportunities available to them, and that they can register when they vote.

Over 54,000 cards are being delivered from now until advance voting starts on January 22. Advance voting takes place from January 22 to 27, 2019.

Voters can also use Elections BC’s Where to Vote application to find voting places close to them. The application can be found on Elections BC’s website at elections.bc.ca/wtv.
