Final Opportunity to Vote in the Langford-Juan de Fuca and Vancouver-Mount Pleasant By-elections is on Saturday, June 24

VICTORIA – The final opportunity to vote in the Langford-Juan de Fuca and Vancouver-Mount Pleasant by-elections is on Election Day, Saturday, June 24. Voting places will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eligible voters can find voting place information at the links below:

Voters are reminded to bring their Where to Vote card and acceptable ID with them when they go to vote. Voters without ID can be vouched for. For more information on ID and vouching see elections.bc.ca/ID.

Voters in Langford-Juan de Fuca or Vancouver-Mount Pleasant with questions about eligibility, or where and when to vote in the by-elections, are encouraged to call Elections BC at 1-800-661-8683, or visit elections.bc.ca/byelections.

Preliminary voting results for the Langford-Juan de Fuca and Vancouver-Mount Pleasant by-elections will be available at the link below after 8 p.m. on Election Day, Saturday, June 24:

Preliminary results will include almost all of the ballots cast in the by-election, including all mail-in ballots received by the close of advance voting. Final count of the remaining absentee ballots will take place on Wednesday, June 28.

Publishing new public opinion polls and election advertising is prohibited on Election Day before the close of voting, and no campaigning is permitted within 100 metres of a voting place. Allowable Election Day activities include distributing pamphlets, signs and posters (outside 100 metres from a voting place), as well as unpaid social media posts and messages transmitted on the internet with the sole purpose of encouraging voters to vote.
