2023 Conservative Party Leadership Contestant Financing Report Available

VICTORIA – The 2023 Conservative Party leadership contestant financing report for John Rustad is now available on the Elections BC website.

John Rustad was the only contestant that ran in the leadership race. The Election Act requires all approved leadership contestants to file a financing report, even if they are acclaimed.

The report was submitted by the June 29, 2023 filing deadline. A leadership contestant financing report is required to contain the following information on financial activities, if applicable:

• political contributions accepted
• contestant expenses incurred, including a summary of advertising expenses by class
• transfers of money, goods or services received and given
• fundraising function information
• other income received and expenditures made
• loans and guarantees

The Conservative Party announced the leadership contest in March 2023. John Rustad was acclaimed leader on March 31, 2023.
