Media Advisory: 2018 Referendum on Electoral Reform Report Available

VICTORIA – The report of the Chief Electoral Officer on the 2018 Referendum on Electoral Reform is now available on Elections BC’s website at the link below:

Voting for the referendum took place by mail between October 22 and December 7, 2018. Results were announced on December 20, 2018.

The report describes the activities Elections BC undertook to administer the referendum. New information in the report includes:

  • Descriptions of how automation and technology were used to process over 1.4 million voting packages
  • Voter turnout by age group
  • Statistics from pre- and post-referendum voter awareness surveys
  • Expenses incurred by Elections BC

The report also includes key event statistics and voting results by electoral district.
