The List of Future Voters

Changes to the Election Act made in November 2019 allow Elections BC to create the List of Future Voters. This is a list of eligible 16 and 17-year-olds who will automatically be added to the Provincial Voters List when they turn 18.

To be eligible for the List of Future Voters, you must be:

  • 16 or 17 years old,
  • a Canadian citizen, and
  • a resident of B.C.

Register now online.

For more information about the List of Future Voters, please call 1-800-661-8683 or email voterservices@elections.bc.ca.

Why should I join the List of Future Voters?

If you are an eligible 16 or 17-year-old, being on the List of Future Voters will make it easier for you to vote when you turn 18. On your 18th birthday you’ll be added to the Provincial Voters List automatically, and when an election is called you’ll receive important information from Elections BC about where, when and how to vote. Having a current voter registration will also speed up the voting process.
