2015 METRO VANCOUVER TRANSPORTATION AND TRANSIT PLEBISCITE – BALLOT COUNT UPDATE

VICTORIA – Elections BC has received over 600,000 ballot packages or about 38% of the 1.56 million voting packages mailed to registered voters in Metro Vancouver since March 16, 2015.

Elections BC officials have processed 550,907 ballot packages through an initial screening process. See the detailed counts of ballot packages at elections.bc.ca/plebiscite/2015_Plebiscite_Interim_Ballot_Returns.

Eligible voters have just over a week or until midnight May 15 to call 1-800-661-8683 and ask for a voting package. Elections BC must receive completed ballot packages before the close of voting at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 29.

“First-time voters and voters unfamiliar with the vote-by-mail process are advised to watch our simple and clear ‘How to vote by mail’ video available on the Elections BC YouTube Channel,” says Chief Electoral Officer Keith Archer. “To assist voters for whom English is a second language, translations of the voting package in 17 languages are available on the Elections BC website.”
