New Rules for Elector Organizations

New rules for elector organizations are coming into effect this fall. Elector organizations are also known as civic or municipal political parties. An elector organization promotes a candidate or group of candidates during a local election.

Under the new rules, elector organizations will be required to register with Elections BC in order to endorse a candidate, receive a campaign contribution or incur an election expense. Elector organizations will also have to file an annual financial report with Elections BC detailing their finances, including campaign contributions received and all expenses incurred.

Virtual training

Elections BC is hosting a virtual training session for elector organizations on November 4. Training will cover everything elector organizations need to know to ensure they comply with the new rules.
