Media Advisory: 2016 BC Conservative Party Leadership Contestant Financing Reports Available

VICTORIA – The 2016 BC Conservative Party leadership contestant financing reports are available for public inspection at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Suite 100 – 1112 Fort Street, Victoria, and on the Elections BC website.

The deadline for filing the leadership contestant financing reports with the Chief Electoral Officer was December 16, 2016. These reports are required to contain the following information on leadership contestant financial activities:

  • political contributions accepted
  • contestant expenses incurred
  • transfers of money, goods or services received and given
  • fundraising function information
  • other income received and expenditures made
  • loans and guarantees

Four leadership contestants were required to file financing reports by December 16, 2016. The financing report for the following contestant was not filed by the deadline. The report may be filed by 4:30 p.m. on January 16, 2017 with a late filing fee of $500.

Elections BC’s Financial Reports and Political Contributions system (FRPC) allows the public to search and download political contribution data and view scanned images of financing reports filed under the Election Act, Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, and Recall and Initiative Act.
