Media Advisory: Initiative Petition to Amend the Police Act – Signature thresholds and proponent expenses limit established

VICTORIA – Elections BC has established the signature thresholds in each of the province’s 85 electoral districts for the initiative to amend the Police Act.

See www.elections.bc.ca/docs/init/ip-2013-001-thresholds.pdf.  These numbers represent 10% of the registered voters in each electoral district as of September 9, 2013.

The initiative petition expenses limit for the proponent is $1,030,562.17.  This amount is based on the total number of registered voters as of September 9, 2013.
