Media Advisory: Voting Results Available on Elections BC Website May 14

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 10, 2013

VICTORIA – Preliminary voting results for British Columbia’s 40th Provincial General Election will be reported on Elections BC’s website as they become available after 8 p.m. (Pacific time) on Tuesday, May 14, General Voting Day.

Results will be updated regularly on a web page linked directly to elections.bc.ca while initial count takes place at over 10,000 voting locations throughout the province.

Preliminary voting results will include:

  • number of votes cast for each candidate
  • number of ballot boxes reported
  • total number of ballot boxes
  • percentage of popular vote

General voting locations are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

Absentee ballots will be counted during final count between May 27 and May 29. Final results will be available on the Elections BC website after the conclusion of final count.
