Late Filing of Third Party Sponsor Initial Disclosure Reports

Under section 243.01 of the Election Act, third party sponsors must file an initial disclosure report with Elections BC within 14 days of spending $10,000 on election advertising during a provincial general election. Section 250.001 of the Act requires Elections BC to publish the name of any sponsor that does not meet this requirement.

The following registered third party sponsors did not meet this requirement:

  • Canadian Home Builders’ Association of British Columbia
  • International Union of Operating Engineers – Canadian Region
  • Teamsters Local 213
  • UA Canada
  • Construction and Specialized Workers’ Union Local 1611

Their initial disclosure reports were filed after the 14 day period and are now available on our Financial Reports and Political Contributions System.
