The Electoral Finance Compliance Services team helps political participants comply with legislated rules that ensure fair and transparent elections. The team promotes awareness of the rules through training and ongoing outreach.

The Team Lead supervises staff and oversees concurrent complex projects within the work unit. As a subject matter expert, they develop sound procedural frameworks to support processes and service delivery. Our ideal applicant has a proven record of excellence working with a variety of stakeholders, a results-focused approach to their work and exceptional leadership skills.

Job Requirements

To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration or a related field, and minimum of 3 years of recent related experience (within the last 5 years); OR
    • Diploma in a related discipline and 4 years of recent related experience; OR
    • Certificate in a related discipline and 5 years of recent related experience, OR
    • A minimum of 7 years of recent related experience.
  • Recent related experience must include:
    • Managing stakeholder relationships in a service delivery environment, including responding to requests from a variety of stakeholders
    • Leading concurrent complex projects
    • Interpreting legislation, and developing new policy and/or procedures
    • Supervising and/or leading teams of staff

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience in a management capacity, including planning, developing and implementing policy, procedures, programs or projects.
  • Experience in managing change or continuous development programs.
  • Experience collaborating with IT in relation to database design and development.
  • Previous experience in electoral administration.

Applicants must be willing and able to:

  • Fulfil the requirement to act as a non-partisan representative of EBC.
  • Work outside normal business hours, occasionally, to meet deadlines.
  • Work from various Elections BC office locations within the Greater Victoria area to support operational demands.
  • Travel, occasionally, to locations throughout the province.
