Elections BC supports democratic engagement and civic participation amongst youth through a variety of partnerships and initiatives. Helping youth register to vote and take advantage of their first opportunities to cast a ballot are important priorities for Elections BC.
You can vote in a B.C. provincial election if you are a Canadian citizen, 18 or older on General Voting Day, and a resident of B.C. for the past six months.
If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can register as a future voter to be automatically added to the Provincial Voters List when you turn 18.

If you are a student who is eligible to vote in B.C., you can register and vote in either the electoral district where you reside while going to school or the electoral district you usually live in when you’re not at school.
If you meet the voter registration requirements and have been living in B.C. for at least six months before General Voting Day, you are eligible to register and vote in B.C. provincial elections. You must register using the address where you live while attending school.
