Electoral Financing and Disclosure

What’s New

  • On September 18, 2017, Bill 3 (Election Amendment Act, 2017) was introduced in the Legislative Assembly. Bill 3 includes several significant changes to the electoral finance rules established under the Election Act for provincial political participants. Currently Elections BC’s website, forms and guides reflect the current rules established in the Election Act. These will be updated as soon as possible if Bill 3 receives Royal Assent and passes into law. Questions regarding Bill 3 should be directed to the Ministry of the Attorney General.
  • Expenses limits for the 41st Provincial General Election have been established for candidates, political parties and third party advertising sponsors. Learn more.
