Media Advisory: Initiative Petition to Amend the Fire and Police Services Collective Bargaining Act – Signature thresholds and proponent expenses limit established

VICTORIA – Elections BC has established the signature thresholds in each of the province’s current 85 electoral districts for the initiative petition to amend the Fire and Police Services Collective Bargaining Act.

See the electoral district thresholds (PDF). These numbers represent 10% of the registered voters in each electoral district as of January 9, 2017.

The initiative petition expenses limit for the proponent is $1,074,272.36. This amount is based on the total number of registered voters as of January 9, 2017. The initiative advertising expenses limit for registered advertising sponsors is $5,000.
