The Local Elections Campaign Financing Act (LECFA) is an important piece of legislation that is critical to ensure that campaign financing rules and advertising requirements in local elections are being addressed. It covers the rules that local candidates, elector organizations and third party advertising sponsors must follow. These rules enhance accountability and transparency by requiring disclosure of financial transactions associated with running a local election campaign.
The next local elections will be held across B.C. on October 20, 2018. Over 3,500 disclosure statements will be filed with Elections BC’s offices. The Administrative Assistant ensures efficient administrative operations in a high-volume, busy work environment during the filing and compliance review process.
